Home Remedies for Urinary Tract Infection That Work!
Fortunately, home remedies for urinary tract infections abound. This is a good thing since there are few chronic infections that are more stubborn. When bacteria lodges in the urinary tract, it can be quite difficult to vanquish. And the symptoms of urinary tract infection are painful: spasms of severe pain in the bladder area and/or lower back, painful burning while urinating, increased frequency and urgency of urination. For females, one of the most important home remedies for urinary tract infection is a vaginal douche which can provide immediate relief from itching and burning. | For instant, dramatic relief, douche with an old fashioned douche bag (hot water bottle with syringe) that you buy at the drug store. Fill with room temperature spring water and two tablespoons non-dairy powdered acidophilus or probiotic blend. | You can also increase the amount of non-dairy, powdered acidophilus or probiotic blend in your daily health and energy drink up to one full teaspoon per drink. Click here for recipe.
Adding some buffered Vitamin C powder (approximately 1000 mg)is also important. Cut down on foods and drinks rich in sugar. Limit your intake of soft drinks, table sugar, alcohol, coffee and concentrated sweet fruit drinks. | Bacteria multiply easily in a sugary environment. | It interferes with the ability of white blood cells to destroy bacteria. Acidic foods such as red meat, spicy foods, shellfish and dairy products may increase the bacterial infection. Avoid cigarettes. Drink lots of pure spring water. Some of the food/drink that contribute to urinary tract infections may be among your favorites. You will not have to give them up forever. Once you're well, you should be able to consume some of them again, in moderation. But the worst of them such as dairy products and coffee are best left alone forever. Here are three home remedies for urinary tract infections. All three should be in place for healing to be permanent and complete:

JuicingCranberries are by far the most important fruit or vegetable home remedy for urinary tract infection. Here is a great juice recipe for killing bacteria in the urinary tract:
2 apples 1/2 lb. cranberries If too tart, sweeten with a little agave syrup and/or dilute with water. It would be wise to drink a glass of fresh or even bottled cranberry juice daily for prevention even after the symptoms have left. Try not to use cranberry cocktails that contain sugar or fructose. These will not help and may actually worsen the condition because bacteria thrive in sugary environments. Additional useful juices are:

blueberry coconut guava kale spinach
| If you use any of these juices for your PowerUp health and energy drink, you’ll be flyin’ I call this the double whammy. See Juicing page for triple whammy and additional guidelines on juicing. Reminder: When you undertake a holistic protocol for a particular ailment, the remedies will have side benefits such as increased energy and other improvements in overall well being.
ReflexologyOn the bottom of the foot, the urinary tract area (kidney, bladder, uretha) travels from the middle of the foot to the inner edge just above the heel. Massage this spot with your thumb using a small circular motion for five minutes a day on each foot. You may have to press down kinda hard and wiggle your thumb around till you find the point. You’ll know you’ve found it when you feel a twinge of pain (sorry). Click here and scroll down for chart.
