About Aisha
Aisha Bey (formerly Jennifer Baker Fleming), graduated with a Bachelor of Social Work from Antioch College in 1975. During the 1960’s and 1970’s, she was active in both the civil rights and women’s movements. She was a co-founder of the Burlington County Welfare Rights Organization, the Burlington County Community Action Program, the Philadelphia Women’s Center, Women in Transition, and Women’s Way. During this period, while training in the martial arts, she became interested in the healing methods of various eastern and indigenous cultures. After completing coursework in nutrition and studying with healers in the USA and abroad, she began her career in the health food industry and established her natural healing practice.During the 1980’s Aisha held a number of management positions within the retail health food industry, during which time she continued in private practice. In 1994, she founded the Holistic AIDS Project, a five year, federally funded program that assisted HIV positive people onto the wellness path. It was during this clinical program that Aisha developed her 3 part healing program and her herbal teas, tonics and potions. in 1998, Aisha graduated from Dominion Herbal College and was certified in herbalism. Today, she is the owner of Aisha’s Herbals, manufacturer/distributor of herbal teas, potions and PowerUp, her revitalizing herbal tonic. She continues her natural healing practice with an emphasis on herbalism. Aisha has four published books: Women in Transition, A Feminist handbook on Separation and Divorce; For Better, For Worse, A Feminist Handbook on Marriage and its Alternatives; Stopping Wife Abuse, A guide to the Psychological, Emotional and Legal Implications for the Abused Woman and Those Helping Her, and her new E book, There’s No Such Thing as a Fatal Disease, How to Heal Everything Naturally. " Each and every day I profusely thank the Creator for leading me to the path of the natural way. I cannot begin to comprehend where I would be if not for the incredible blessing of this sacred, ancient wisdom, the wisdom that sustained our ancestors in their arduous journey and sojurn in the wilderness. I am here to do my small part in restoring these natural healing ways to their rightful role in maintaining the well being of humankind. Until we regain this sacred knowledge and put it to use in our daily lives, we will continue to wander. It takes courage and vision to step onto this path. Friends and family may ridicule/sabotage/reject your healing choices. You may need to drop some long held beliefs. You may need to eliminate toxic people as well as toxic foods from your life. All this can be scary, but when you start to feel like a racehorse at the starting gate, when people start asking "what in the world are you doing, you look absolutely fabulous", when you jump out of bed in the morning, raring to go, when you feel like you're on top of the world, and finally, when you get hurt or sick and what God put in this earth heals you, you will not waver or hesitate for a second in your commitment to the path. It is the only way to have a long, healthy, active, fulfilling, joyful life. My greatest wish is that this on-line healing community will serve as an important touchstone on your journey to wellness. Please share that journey with us so that we can complete the healing circle and so you will play your part in the restoration of the ancient healing ways. Through this restoration, we bring hope to those in despair and health to those in disease. All praises to the Most High from whence all healing comes!"
